Division assignments in the Northern Virginia Swimming League (NVSL) are determined by seeding the league member pools into divisions of about equal strength. This process ensures balanced competition across all divisions.
The 2024 NVSL summer swim league consists of 102 teams, which have been divided into 17 divisions (1-17) according to their rankings in 2023.
